A recent passionate appeal by Dennis Musindi Omondi, a local journalist, 31, for help to raise Kshs12 million to help him get a bone marrow transplant in India after suffering acute Leukemia has touched the very heart of Optiven Foundation.
“We felt deeply touched by Dennis’ current need and that is why we have decided to come in and contribute Ksh 100, 000 to go towards raising the cash needed to facilitate his treatment,” said Mr. George Wachiuri, Optiven Foundation Chairman and Trustee who also offered an additional Ksh 25, 000 personal contribution towards the same cause.
“We believe that if at least 40 Corporate Chief Executives in this country can come out and contribute only Kshs100, 000 each, we will have easily bridged this deficit that is required to save a precious life,” plead Mr. Wachiuri.
He noted that nobody is immune to such a need that is currently facing Dennis and that in such a circumstance; charity is the very essence of a true human nature. “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you,” he added.
