28th February 2015, a beautiful sunny Saturday morning and all roads lead to Laburra. The journey was smooth and exciting to view the beautiful sceneries across the counties. The most exciting being a closer view of Mt. Kenya .The Optiven foundation team , led by Hon Samuel and Helen Okello who are among the Foundation trustees, pitched a camp at Laburra mixed secondary school at Mweiga, Kieni constituency, Nyeri County.
Hon Samuel and Helen Okello presented a Cheque worth Kshs. 100,000.00 which was received by the principle and the students. The funds will enable them develop the school and pay school fees for the identified needy students. Madam Hellen Okello crowned the ceremony by launching a program for young authors. She asked to be given two students whom through Sahel Publishers, will be mentored to become authors and the proceeds from the sale of the books would be dedicated to provision of education services
