Happy Day of the African Child 2021 The day is celebrated to consider gains and protection of the rights and privileges if children across the continent. The theme for the Day of the African Child 2021 is “30 years after the adoption of the Charter: accelerate the implementation of Agenda 2040 for an Africa fit for children.

Optiven Group Foundation has continued to map out support specific to children in different areas. Only this month, the foundation through it’s GoGreen Initiative partnered with the Greenkids Awards to encourage children to be innovative and involved in Environmental Sustainability.

Through support stimulus in education, the foundation through it’s partnership with Fusion Capital and the Soaring Eagles Scholarship Program, have been able to support students in secondary schools with bursaries. Through stakeholder engagement, the Optiven Foundation has also provided students and youth with sanitary pads for girls and underwear for boys.

Through the Graduate Mentorship Program of the George Wachiuri School of Mentorship, hundreds of graduates have been prepared for the job market as well as entrepreneurship journey. The same has seen hundreds graduate after a six month long training with many on their way to launching successful business ventures.

George Wachiuri, Chairman of the Optiven Group Foundation says, “our strategic projection for the next 20 years is focused on the next generation. From our identity and growth plan, to Initiatives such as GoGreen and the George Wachiuri School of Mentorship, we want to empower the children in readiness for the future“.
