On 18th October 2022 Optiven Foundation touched the hearts of vulnerable children at the Kiota Children’s Home in Ruai along Kangundo Road, as they extended their objective of ‘Eyes on the Community.’ Kiota, a swahili word for ‘nest’, represents the desire to provide an environment that is favorable for orphans and other vulnerable children.
Having been in the operation of touching lives for over 8 years, Optiven Foundation through its main pillars has actively supported and assisted the less fortunate in society. While joining the world in celebrating the International Day for Poverty Eradication on the 17th October, the Foundation donation managed to put a smile on their faces. The day is meant to acknowledge the people living in poverty and recognition of global solidarity to eradicate poverty and combat all forms of discrimination.
Under the Health and Dignity Pillar, a clean, secure and comfortable home will enhance their growth as well as protect them from communicable infections that are a result of poor hygiene. The Kenyan health authorities confirmed an outbreak of Cholera in 6 counties with already over 60 cases confirmed.
According to the Ministry of Health, Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection causing sometimes fatal dehydration and is generally contracted from food or water contaminated with bacteria.
This is a noble cause you can be part of by giving financial and medical support as well as donations like food, clothes, diapers and sanitary towels.
