Optiven Foundation has empowered Kariuki Gicheru, an 80yrs old, resident of Gilgil. Mzee has been bedridden after being discharged from North Kinangop Hospital where he underwent upper leg surgery.
The Family reached out to Optiven Foundation seeking help and now Gicheru is a happy beneficiary of the #MobilityThatBrings Smiles initiative. The award winning , campaign under Optiven Foundation donates new wheelchairs to persons in dire need.
While receiving the wheelchair at Optiven Headquarters, Kariuki’s family expressed their immense joy noting that the wheelchair will ease his mobility and help in healing sores after the lengthy illness.
