Angela Mboya, 46 years, is from Athi River. She is a realtor and a mother of 4 children who is a beneficiary of the Optiven Foundation’s #MobilityThatBringsSmiles Campaign. Here is her story.

“I had gone to show a client some piece of land and it had rained that evening. The paths were slippery and after viewing, on my way back, the unthinkable happened. I fell and my left leg cracked in what turned out to be a manhole on the ground. Unfortunately I ended up with a broken leg and had to be rushed to hospital.

It was found to have a fracture and a dislocation on both sides of the bones of the leg. The next day I underwent surgery and thank God for it was successful. I was discharged 3 days after the surgery but on getting back home I got crutches to help me walk. But as fate would have it, I unfortunately slipped and fell in the bathroom,” she narrated.

Since I can not go out and fend for my family, I reached out to Optiven Foundation who donated to me a brand new wheel chair. I extend my gratitude to the Foundation for this kind gesture and the help so far.  I will forever be grateful for helping me at such a trying moment.’

Therefore our selfless giving has changed and transformed lives of many Kenyans.
